Women's Directorship Programme

This world-leading board governance programme, now in its eleventh year, is designed to help participants gain new skills, knowledge, a board network and learn how to best position themselves for an iNED role. Participants also join an incredible international alumni of women leaders changing the face of boardrooms worldwide.

Through a comprehensive combination of lecturers, interactive sessions, leadership exercises and input from international faculty members and senior business leaders, the Women's Directorship Programme offers a blend of both academic and practical learning. The programme serves to address contemporary business challenges and opportunities in the workplace, across industries and geographies.

2025 DATES:
Session 1: 22-24 May, 2025 (Thurs - Sat) - 3 days
Session 2: 25-27 Sep, 2025 (Thurs - Sat) - 3 days

This six-day programme, split into two sessions of three days each, will allow participants to fully immerse themselves in the learning experience and network with international peers, away from the distractions of daily life.

Who should attend

The Women's Directorship Programme is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to demonstrate they are ready for the responsibilities of the boardroom as a Director or Non-Executive Director.  It also serves women who are currently serving on boards, who want to improve their skills and knowledge to a world-class level. 

All participants are required to meet a number of requirements in order to ensure that the programme is conducted to suit a certain skillset and level of understanding. These requirements ensure all participants gain maximum benefit from the programme:

  • Working in a leadership role for five years or more

  • Financial exposure / responsibility for P&L

2025 programme details

There are six modules, which include:

  • The Real-World Roles of Board and Committee Members

  • Strategic and Collaborative Leadership

  • Persuasive Communication 

  • Public Company and Securities Market Regulation

  • Ethics and Compliance

  • Board Simulation exercise

Participants have the opportunity to meet and network with counterparts from different industries and functions, in addition to enhancing their network through the involvement of influential guest speakers.

Other details

Tuition fee: USD$14,250

Held at The University of Hong Kong’s Cyberport Campus, the programme will involve interactive sessions with industry leaders such as:

  • Edith Ngan, INED of Swire Pacific

  • Nick Allen, INED of HKEX, CLP

  • May Tan, INED of CLP, Manulife 

  • Rachel Duan, INED of HSBC plc 

 

The programme aims to open doors for the participants, serving to change the face of boardrooms worldwide.

Program Certificate:

Upon successful completion of the programme and an examination, a Certificate on Board Directorship Program with QR Registration No.13/00264/L6 will be awarded to participants.
